Gardening at Bordewich-Bray
Our first project is to start a school garden which will allow students to grow a variety of plants and vegetables. Our plan is to have three raised-garden beds located in a grassy area of the school. The grass will be dug up and replaced with the garden beds. Each grade level will get half a bed to do with what they wish. We hope to plant a variety of plants and vegetables. This project will encourage students to learn more about how things grow and how to care for their garden. In addition, it can help promote healthy eating habits. All academic subjects can be incorporated into the garden plan, including: math, science, reading and ecology.
